The team
You work from the sales office for EMEA (Europe, Middle-East and Africa) in Kortrijk in a pleasant team of 4 colleagues. Tom is the Sales Manager to whom you report. He has been working for Shepherd Color for over 20 years and after an interlude at another company he is back at Shepherd Color with more ambition than ever. He wants to grow sales from the EMEA region back to 20% of total sales. He will be your mentor, teach you the ropes and be there when you have questions. Tom likes to see people grow, recognizes expertise and will use it to further grow the team.
In this job, you will take over the duties of Wolfgang, who has worked for Shepherd Color for 12 years and is retiring this summer. You can learn a lot from him until then. Bert, who is famous for his sense of humor, is your fellow Regional Sales Manager with whom you will work closely. Then there is also Dominique, the highly professional Office Manager that colleagues and customers can count on for more than 6 years. Dominique is also responsible for order processing and customer service.
You will join a team with a jovial, approachable and professional atmosphere where everyone gets satisfaction from good results and quality service. They will all work together to ensure you are warmly welcomed and you will be given time to learn and settle in. You will be sure to receive technical training through Teams of technical specialists from Shepherd Color in the USA.
Function
What challenge lies ahead of you?
As International Technical Sales Support, you will be responsible for a portfolio of about 100 regular international customers.
- You prepare custom quotes and forward technical data sheets.
- Send quarterly updates of our new prices to existing customers.
- You will update the forecast so that production can take this into account.
- You will have regular contact with technical specialists and marketing colleagues in the USA.
Profile
What is your profile?
For this role, it is important that you have the right personality and drive to work with the team to grow sales. You enjoy performing varied administrative tasks while keeping an overview, always going for the best result. You are commercial and you are happy with a new customer and a new contract. You have technical insight and a customer-oriented attitude. You are a real team player but you can also work independently. Furthermore, you are very accurate and can work proactively.
Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following:
- You have a Bachelor's degree in chemistry or equivalent through experience.
- You have an experience in chemistry, possibly in a lab. Relevant work experience with pigments, plastics or paints is a plus.
- You speak very fluent English and good Dutch. If you also speak French, German or other languages this is definitely a plus.
- You are interested in a position with regular customer contact and derive satisfaction from achieving results.
- You have very good knowledge of Excel and experience with SAP is a plus
- You are able to quickly learn to work with new IT applications and systems
